Our Board
Tim Marney, Chair
Tim has over 30 years’ experience in economics, finance, public policy and administration, health and human services. He served as the Western Australian Under Treasurer for almost a decade, followed by over five years in the role of Mental Health Commissioner of WA.
Tim also served on the Beyond Blue board of Directors from 2008 to 2019, and was Deputy Chair from 2011 to 2019.
He has been a board member of Reconciliation WA, Chair of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre Advisory Board since 2014 and Chair of the board of Richmond Wellbeing.
Annabel Seow, Secretary
Annabel is a corporate lawyer who works in the Resources and Energy sector for a range of local and multinational companies, currently Herbert Smith and Freehills. She believes that a sense of community is integral to breaking down social disadvantage and that we all have a role to play with the time and skills we have. She has previously volunteered with Edmund Rice Camps for Kids, ShelterWA and the Arts Law Centre of Australia.
lindsey hershman, TREASURER
Lindsey is currently Managing Director of AI Access. He was formerly the Head of Enterprise Change for HBF Health and Operations Digital Transformation Manager for Woodside. He has experience working with both ASX-listed and Government corporations. Lindsey leverages his leadership experience across Strategy, Operations, Commercial, Human Resources and Digital to guide SBSW through our exciting growth phase. A volunteer for much of his adult life, Lindsey has previously volunteered with Orange Sky and Radio Lollipop.
Kate O’Hara, Board Director
Kate is the Chief Executive Officer of Foodbank WA and former Non-Executive Director of Hawaiian property group, Black Swan State Theatre Company, WA Cricket Foundation and Celebrate WA amongst others.
Kate has a wealth of business and leadership experience with a background in strategic marketing, digital strategy, communications and media planning, community creation and place making across a broad range of sectors including property, residential housing, the resource sector, banking and education.
She brings to the Short Back & Sidewalks Board decades of experience in these areas to assist in our Board’s strategic plan and governance program.
CRAIG HOLLYWOOD, FOUNDER AND board Director
Craig founded Short Back & Sidewalks in March 2015 after seeing a service delivery gap to the community in need.
While Craig has volunteered at all levels of Short Back & Sidewalks operations over the 10 years, he is the visionary that keeps the organisation striving to better serve those in need. He now plays a critical role on the Board through strategic partnerships and fundraising.
His full-time role involves working for global infrastructure consultancy AECOM as WA Deputy Defence Lead.
Craig's impact has been recognised nationally when he was awarded Australian of the Year 2022 Western Australia’s Local Hero. He was also a finalist in the RAC WA Volunteer of the Year category of the 2024 WA Volunteer of the Year awards. In October 2024, he was named the Vidal Sassoon ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ at the Australian Hair Industry Awards 2024.
Craig has recently joined the Board of Volunteering WA.
ALISON XAMON, BOARD Director
Alison is the current Mayor of the City of Vincent, a WA inner-city Council, and is a former Member of Parliament, having served as the Parliamentary Leader of the Greens in the WA State Parliament. Amongst her portfolios were homelessness, mental health, disability, and FDV. A lawyer with a background in industrial, equal opportunity and human rights law, Alison has been a passionate social justice and environmental campaigner for over three decades.
Alison has an extensive background in mental health and suicide prevention advocacy, was formerly the President of the WA Association for Mental Health, a Director of Mental Health Australia, the Vice Chair of Community Mental Health Australia, and was the inaugural Co-Chair of the Department of Health Statewide Mental Health Network.
Alison also served on the Ministerial Council for suicide prevention. She has also run and served on the Boards of numerous not-for-profit organisations and brings extensive experience in community and charitable organisations.
Rebecca Smith, Board Director
Rebecca is a passionate brand, marketing and eCommerce FMCG leader with experience in global corporate, founder-led social enterprise and start-up organisations, as well as in sitting on and working closely with boards. She is a skilled public speaker and presenter with a love for leading and developing teams, an obsession with understanding consumer behaviour and a passion for social enterprise and CSR.
She has managed large teams in marketing & brand management, eCommerce, strategy development, data analysis, product development, digital marketing & media, public relations & communications, campaign management and creative studio management and has a proven track record of sustainably growing brands, developing meaningful connections with customers and delivering strong commercial results.
In her previous roles she was Head of Marketing at Thank You, Marketing Director of L'Oreal and the Chief Marketing and Digital Officer at Frank Green, which during her time became an iconic Australian brand and cult product. After making the move back to Perth with her family, she was former General Manager of Marketing at Brownes Dairy and Chief Marketing Officer of Sea to Summit Global.
