Tim Marney, Chair

Tim has over 30 years’ experience in economics, finance, public policy and administration, health and human services. He served as the Western Australian Under Treasurer for almost a decade, followed by over five years in the role of Mental Health Commissioner of WA.

Tim also served on the Beyond Blue board of Directors from 2008 to 2019, and was Deputy Chair from 2011 to 2019.

He is currently a board member of Reconciliation WA, has been Chair of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre Advisory Board since 2014 and is also currently Chair of the board of Richmond Wellbeing.

Annabel Seow, Secretary

Annabel is a corporate lawyer who works in the Resources and Energy sector for a range of local and multinational companies, currently Herbert Smith and Freehills. She believes that a sense of community is integral to breaking down social disadvantage and that we all have a role to play with the time and skills we have. She has previously volunteered with Edmund Rice Camps for Kids, ShelterWA and the Arts Law Centre of Australia.

lindsey hershman, TREASURER

Lindsey is currently Managing Director of AI Access.  He was formerly the Head of Enterprise Change for HBF Health and Operations Digital Transformation Manager for Woodside. He has experience working with both ASX-listed and Government corporations. Lindsey leverages his leadership experience across Strategy, Operations, Commercial, Human Resources and Digital to guide SBSW through our exciting growth phase.  A volunteer for much of his adult life, Lindsey has previously volunteered with Orange Sky and Radio Lollipop.

 

Kate O’Hara, Board Director

Kate is the Chief Executive Officer of Foodbank WA and former Non-Executive Director of Hawaiian property group, Black Swan State Theatre Company, WA Cricket Foundation and Celebrate WA amongst others.

Kate has a wealth of business and leadership experience with a background in strategic marketing, digital strategy, communications and media planning, community creation and place making across a broad range of sectors including property, residential housing, the resource sector, banking and education.

She brings to the Short Back & Sidewalks Board decades of experience in these areas to assist in our Board’s strategic plan and governance program.

 
 

CRAIG HOLLYWOOD, FOUNDER AND board Director

Craig is a Principal Technical Officer with over 20 years’ experience in the Civil Engineering sector currently working for a Tier 1 consultant. Craig founded Short Back & Sidewalks after witnessing a service delivery gap to the community in need. He has run Short Back & Sidewalks since its establishment, growing the service delivery from Western Australia to now include New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and on-country in the Northern Territory.

 
 
 

ALISON XAMON, BOARD Director

Alison is the current Mayor of the City of Vincent, a WA inner-city Council, and is a former Member of Parliament, having served as the Parliamentary Leader of the Greens in the WA State Parliament. Amongst her portfolios were homelessness, mental health, disability, and FDV. A lawyer with a background in industrial, equal opportunity and human rights law, Alison has been a passionate social justice and environmental campaigner for over three decades.

Alison has an extensive background in mental health and suicide prevention advocacy, was formerly the President of the WA Association for Mental Health, a Director of Mental Health Australia, the Vice Chair of Community Mental Health Australia, and was the inaugural Co-Chair of the Department of Health Statewide Mental Health Network. 

Alison also served on the Ministerial Council for suicide prevention. Alison has also run and served on the Boards of numerous not-for-profit organisations and brings extensive experience in community and charitable organisations.

Rebecca Smith, Board Director

Rebecca is a passionate brand, marketing and eCommerce FMCG leader with experience in global corporate, founder-led social enterprise and start-up organisations, as well as in sitting on and working closely with boards. She is a skilled public speaker and presenter with a love for leading and developing teams, an obsession with understanding consumer behaviour and a passion for social enterprise and CSR.

She has managed large teams in marketing & brand management, eCommerce, strategy development, data analysis, product development, digital marketing & media, public relations & communications, campaign management and creative studio management and has a proven track record of sustainably growing brands, developing meaningful connections with customers and delivering strong commercial results.

In her previous roles she was Head of Marketing at Thank You, Marketing Director of L'Oreal and the Chief Marketing and Digital Officer at Frank Green, which during her time became an iconic Australian brand and cult product. After making the move back to Perth with her family, she is now the General Manager of Marketing at Brownes Dairy.

Natalie Jenkins, CEO

Natalie is a passionate and strategic leader in the community and cultural sectors and commercial creative industries. She has over 30 years’ experience as a CEO/senior executive, strategic advisor and non-executive board director. Natalie has led a number of highly successful Not-for-profit and commercial organisations in both metropolitan and regional Australia and ran her own strategic advisory business for 8 years, consulting with the corporate and community sectors. Most recently, Natalie was CEO of Block Branding, a strategic branding agency based in Western Australia.

Natalie’s expertise spans multi-level stakeholder engagement, strategic leadership of creative and community organisations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Not-for-profit governance. She has Chaired and been a member of a number of boards and advisory committees, including government (federal and state), creative industry and grass roots community organisations. Natalie is currently Chair of Seesaw Magazine, a national Board Member of Performing Lines and board member of Future Now – a multi sector workforce development advisory council to the state government.

Elaine healy, Operations Manager

Elaine is an accomplished professional with over two decades of experience in the not-for-profit sector. Specialising in community engagement, Elaine has dedicated her career to fostering organisational growth and enhancing the effectiveness of not-for-profit initiatives through strategic oversight and compassionate leadership. Her work is characterised by a deep passion for community service and an unwavering dedication to societal improvement.

In addition to her role at Short Back & Sidewalks, Elaine is an active member of the Volunteering WA Research Committee, an advisory group to the CEO and Senior Management of Volunteering WA. She also contributes her expertise to the Volunteer Leadership Group at Volunteering WA, further underscoring her leadership in the field and commitment to advancing the impact of volunteering.

 

SAM AGHDAM, STATE MANAGER SOUTH AUSTRALIA (VOLUNTEER)

Sam joined Short Back & Sidewalks in 2022 as the South Australian State Manager, coordinating and setting up services in Adelaide. He is an innovative and entrepreneurial leader working as the technology lead with a non-for-profit, contributing to the fight for better health and wellbeing through life-changing medical research and improved healthcare.

 

JOCELEN GRIFFITHS, HEAD OF COMMS (VOLUNTEER)

Jocelen joined Short Back & Sidewalks in October 2022 as Head of Communications. She leads SBSW’s team of expert marketing and communications volunteers dedicated to growing SBSW’s impact. With a background spanning both government and corporate sectors, Jocelen brings to SBSW leadership experience in project and issues management, policy advice, external affairs, stakeholder engagement, media and communications. 

Mas Bianchi, Manager Western Australia (Volunteer)

Mas is Short Back & Sidewalks’ WA Metro Manager, joining the team in 2022. Mas worked in the community services sector for many years; she is a qualified HR management professional and an advocate for social justice, believing everyone deserves a fair go.

 

SUSAN MULLER,
STATE MANAGER VICTORIA (VOLUNTEER)

Susan is Short Back & Sidewalks’ Victorian State Manager, joining the team in 2022. Organising services and leading the VIC team, Susan has a passion for connecting with people and community. She brings extensive knowledge in communication and project management having worked across business development, marketing and communications, youth and disability work.

KEVIN GRIFFIN, NATIONAL VOLUNTEER MANAGER (VOLUNTEER)

Kevin joined Short Back & Sidewalks in 2022 as National Volunteer Manager, engaging with new and existing volunteers across Australia to help enhance our front-line impact. His background is in recruitment, leadership, coaching, and development; and he has previously volunteered within local community radio.
