In our Meet the team series, we profile our Short Back & Sidewalks volunteers and talk to them about their experiences volunteering with us.

Hi everyone I’m Renata,

I’ve been volunteering with this amazing group of people for a few years now . Going to the different places and giving haircuts to some amazing guys and girls .

Before I started volunteering I was a little bit worried as to what I was putting myself into , but I also knew I wanted to help in some way . So this was the perfect way I knew I could, by giving someone a fresh new haircut and be an ear to talk to without judgement.

I love going and watch the change in people’s faces after they have spent just a little time in the chair and walking out with a new fresh look . You can see how happy they feel and that makes me happy . I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many and hearing their stories has been incredible. I wish I could take them all home with me .

So if you get the chance I highly recommend to come on the volunteering team.
